An interactive study from SEAM
Rain,
interrupted.
The storm stops at a line. The ground continues.
Send a drop toward the boundary. Watch its waves return.
At the boundary
The same ground.
A different year.
In SEAM, weather belongs to its patch of history. Here, a shallow pool meets an invisible boundary. The waves reflect back into the rain.
Choose One drop to follow a single impact. Reveal the waves makes the motion easier to see. Drag to look around, or focus the scene and use the arrow keys. Space pauses the study.
This is a visual experiment inspired by the novel. The wave reveal is a way of seeing the model; the seam itself does not glow.
The short film
A moment at the seam.
16 seconds · Silent
Rain falls onto wet clay and stops at dry ground. The view moves closer to a single impact, then reveals the waves reflecting from the boundary.
About this study
The live view computes a small, linear wave model with gravity, surface tension, and a reflecting boundary. It animates an existing shallow pool; it does not model the accumulation of rain or a full weather system. Wave height is exaggerated to make the motion visible.
